Mr. Joey Chbeir had long been an avid advocate for strengthening the ties between Lebanon and United States before being appointed the Honorary Consul of Lebanon in Birmingham, Alabama, on January 15, 2019. Mr. Chbeir plays a critical role in providing essential consular services including power of attorneys, legalization of documents, registration of vital records, and developing trade, investment and cultural connections between Lebanon and the State of Alabama.
As an experienced litigator, Mr. Chbeir counsels domestic and foreign clients, including Fortune 500 companies, and regularly handles complex litigation disputes for his clients. Mr. Chbeir is fluent in English, French, and Arabic, having studied the law in all three languages. He has served as an Adjunct Faculty at the Lebanese American University in Beirut, Lebanon, and its satellite campus in New York, and has taught international transactions and compliance courses.
